What were the symptoms of your testicle infection and how was it treated? Submit Your Comment

I am on the 8th day of taking antibiotics for testicle infection. The lump in my testicle got smaller and smaller and it doesn't hurt so much now. All you have to do is bed rest. The only reason you stand up is for urination and bowel movement.

I had chlamydia and after I was treated the discharge and burning stopped, until I had to urinate. Then there was a pain during urination and the left testicle felt constantly inflamed. I could feel it down my leg. I was tested again and no STDs. I researched and decided to change to a healthier diet, drink crazy amounts of water mixed with apple cider vinegar, take sovereign silver sometimes and take pumpkin seed oil daily. After a few months, I'm back to normal feeling great. Hopefully this helps someone.

I was diagnosed with epididymitis (testicle infection) in March of 2020. This is after 3 months of nonstop pain and agony; getting kicked in the groin is a mild statement. Somebody repeatedly stomping on the testicles is more my situation and, I am sure, others. Late February 2021, after a year of antibiotics not working, my urologist set me up for a right side epididymectomy. Just about 2 weeks later I am still hurting but on the left side now. Months after surgery I am diagnosed with epididymitis again but on the left side. Back on antibiotics.

I have pain between my legs and backside and then my testicles, now going down my legs. It is 14 months now I am going crazy with the pain from the testicle infection.

I developed chronic epididymitis in March of last year after I had a colonoscopy. It wasn't until last November that I was diagnosed with testicle infection after blood and urine tests came back clear, and an ultrasound came back normal. I was put on amitriptyline which has helped a lot, but sometimes the epididymitis flares up. Since I was put on amitriptyline I seem to have a few side effects such as constipation and dry orgasm.

I wonder if any testicle infection can cause erection dysfunction.

I've had epididymitis twice. The second time I had a testicle infection, pharmaceutical antibiotics failed and after a month I became worried this could be permanent. Here's what I did to defeat this with natural ingredients. I took 4 cloves raw garlic and honey 1 or 2 times daily, pure cranberry juice 16 oz daily, apple cider vinegar tonic 16 oz daily, turmeric 500 mg once daily, saw palmetto 160 mg once daily, vitamin E 1000 IU once daily, sovereign silver 1 tbsp 4 to 5 times daily, and carrot/ginger/turmeric juice 16 oz daily. I was cured in 1 week!

I was treated for chlamydia roughly 12 years ago but always felt that there was something more underlying. I had a feeling that my right testicle struggled to empty when ejaculating which led me to believe the tubes were inflamed. Eventually, I went to the doctors after the little niggles became worse. I was given antibiotics (Trimethoprim) for epididymitis which helped loads. I have a follow up appointment to make sure all is well. My advice is, have testicle infections checked without delay.

Comment from: Niall1974, 45-54 Male (Patient) Published: October 18

My symptoms of testicle infection were dull ache, lower groin discomfort, mild hip pain, and mild lower left back ache. I had blood test, urine test and ultrasound which came back as normal. I completed 2 courses of antibiotics separately, and amitriptyline. I am still having symptoms with this condition. Very noticeable when I sitting down and wearing jeans.

I had epididymitis (testicle infection) in February and March. It was a sudden onset and I was given levofloxacin for 14 days which helped. In March I had gastroenteritis and returned lessened testicular pain. The urologist proscribed levofloxacin for 60 days which damaged my digestive system. Ultrasound showed slight decrease in blood flow and calcium buildup within healthy ranges. I was told testicle pain was referred pain from lower back or pelvis. Addressing spine and nerve aspect shortly.

Be careful of testicle infection diagnosis! Sometimes prostatitis can masquerade as epididymis and you will need a minimum of continuous 6 weeks of antibiotics, e.g. ciprofloxacin, before you see any results. I have had epididymis for 8 weeks now treated with short course antibiotics on each occasion (three). Nothing has worked. I'm still in pain and my left epididymis is swollen and sore with burning pain almost every day. You need high dose antibiotics for 6 weeks nonstop minimum.

Don't panic, testicle infection does get better. I was diagnosed with epididymitis, then prostatitis. The pain was unbearable, and I went to the emergency room due to panic attacks. I was on 6 different antibiotics and they all helped briefly. I tried the diuretic and anti-inflammatory pill which was a complete waste of money. What helped most was physical therapy through massages, stretching, and acupuncture in the upper legs and lower back. Learn to meditate and stress less, this will get better with time.

I had acute epididymitis once and that resolved with Cipro. About 1 year later, I got epididymitis again, but this time antibiotics are no help. It has now been a whole year since and my testicle infection has not been cured. Please continue to research this disease and help put a stop to this painful inflammation.

Six months ago I started feeling mild pain. I couldn't sit with closed legs. I had antibiotic for testicle infection. It is still getting worse and I can't even drive.

Six months ago I had a feeling pain in my scrotum and then I made an appointment with the urologist. After ultrasound the doctor said that I had epididymitis. So he prescribed doxycycline 100 mg for 7 days but I feel the still pain in my testicle. After 1 week I visited the doctor again and he added the same medicine for 2 weeks again. After visiting once more after 2 weeks I told him that I still felt pain, then he gave me pain relievers and said that it will cure slowly, but I still feel pain.

I was having severe scrotal pain on both testicles from infection. I took all sorts of oral antibiotics which didn't work. A scrotal scan showed a mild hydrocele and epididymitis. A semen analysis was recommended. The result showed moderate growth of Staphylococcus aureus nonresistant to Rocephin IM. I took Rocephin Injection 6 days. Pain reduced. They did another semen analysis, which showed scanty growth of staphylococcus aureus nonresistant to streptomycin. I took it for 6 days. I am finally free after almost six months of pain.

I developed trigeminal neuralgia (TN) some 7 years ago. It failed to respond to medications. I tried Pain Shied on two occasions. I found it unhelpful and in my opinion may be harmful. There is no credible scientific data to back it. The company undertook a double blind trial some 4 years ago but failed to publish the results for unknown reasons. I do not think this device should be marketed to a vulnerable group of patients.

I have had testicular pain followed by hydrocele after about 5 months. This has gone on for the past 7 years. I had my hydrocele drained every 5 months but the pain in my left testicle always remained. My primary doctor and my urologist disagreed as what was causing my pain. Last year I was disabled with knee pain, sciatica, testicular pain and a fuzzy mind for almost 24 hours a day. My doctor was baffled and after 5 months I was told I had Lyme disease. No more pain. Hope this helps.

I was told I got epididymitis two months ago and have seen 3 doctors giving 6 antibiotics for 7 days including Ofloxal, vibramycin, cefuroxime and Ciproxyl which were not working well with my testicle and lower back pain. The pain is somewhat making me really depressed and think of excision of my testis. Finally I was referred to a urologist who, after asking me all the treatment history, told me that antibiotics I took should have killed any bacteria and my pain may be reflexive pain. He gave me gabapentin saying that will ease nerve pain and it works.

I have had testicle infection for 6 years! I have off and on pain from epididymitis, I got it from chlamydia. I had it treated with medicines but pain persisted. I am with no relief until now! The answer is heat! I applied some Tiger balm directly and all over my affected testicle. And the pain slowly subsided. I finally have gotten my life back. Maybe even trying a heat pack may work too. Good luck.

I have pains in my groin, pain in my testicles, and it is too sensitive to touch. After explaining to my doctor he gave me some antibiotics which I tried, but they didn't help with the testicle infection. Then he started talking about surgery, and I am not buying the idea.

Free home remedy that works for testicle infection. I feel guilty for not posting this much sooner, but it absolutely works. Multiple ultra sound revealed that I had very bad epididymitis in both testicles (more in the left than right). Antibiotics never helped, and I also ended up with Peyronie's disease. This works! Pinch off the area above and below the testes when you use the restroom to prevent urine and fecal matter from entering into the testes. Have only full orgasms and massage out any stones.

I am a man of 44 years of age. I have no children and have been feeling this pain in my left testicle. Aside from that I am having a low sperm count. I have been trying my best to cure the testicle infection.

I had epididymis for about 6 months. I took a few courses of antibiotics for my testicle infection: doxycycline, levofloxacin, azithromycin, and Cipro on an off while taking turmeric and using ice packs and heat. I still would have occasional swelling usually after masturbating. So I tried a new trick. I take enzyme tablets (for absorption) and 8 oz. of orange juice along with turmeric (1000 mg). I place a heating pad (where the swelling usually occurs) and I use a vibrating bullet and place it on and around my testicles while masturbating. In 2 to 3 days it was gone. Worked for me!

Initially I had epididymitis which was cured by antibiotics, but after that now I have mild pain in my right testicle. Almost 2 years have gone and I still don't know what to do to get rid of this pain. The doctor told me to take anti-inflammatory medicine but it doesn't work either. I don't know what to do. Before coming on this page I was thinking that mild pain I had was occurring due to masturbation, but I was wrong, there are lots of people who are facing the same problem. So I think I need to consult to my doctor again and check if I have a testicle infection.

I have epididymitis for years, and doctors advise me to take herbal medicine, it is said to promote blood circulation, and induce diuresis. So, I took diuretic and anti-inflammatory pill for 3 months. Now, the inflammation is eliminated, and the pain is relieved.

I have a situation that is really mind boggling. I constantly have groin and testicle pain and nobody can seem to help me or tell me why it is constant. I just want to be pain free and being a male, I am sure all men can relate to being kicked in the testicles; well, just imagine feeling like that (all the time)! Oh my goodness, it is horrible. I have seen a urologist and he told me after several procedures that he could not help me. I so much wish somebody could help me. I really wish a healthcare professional will see this and can help me or give me some advice.

I just had kidney surgery and they had to put a stent that goes from my kidney down all the way. Well, since the surgery my left testicle has been hurting really bad. It's been about a week since they took the stent out. I'm still in a lot of pain in my left testicle so the doctor said I have an infection and gave me this antibiotic called doxycycline hyclate 100 mg. I haven't seen anything getting better and I have been on the medication for 3 days now. I just want to know if I have the right antibiotic.

Hi, I had a vasectomy done in 2006 and I was what they call one of 1/2000 cases for an incidence of congenital absence of the vas. So the smart surgeon thought to go further when he did not find the vas on my left side and decided to give me more sedation and to open up the incision and delivered the entire testicle outside of the incision but the stubborn surgeon did not find any vas, so he replace the testicle and closed me with 3-0 vicryl and 4-0 monocryl (what ever it means). When the operation was done I was in so much pain that I needed someone to give me something to forget about the pain. Now the real reason I am writing to you is that I had discomfort in my scrotum since. The pain comes and goes with time. My pain is more present when I do exercise especially. Now it is 2011 and went to a physician again a new one, but to my surprise the old physician, who made my vasectomy moved in is the office a month before meeting with the new one. I thought hum, interesting. So the new physician though to put a finger in my rectum and said. You may have an inflammation of the scrotum and need to take "SEPTRA DS" for one month. Oh I forgot to say that I had ultrasound done but they did not find anything.

This is my first time writing, but third to fourth time with discomfort, and second time with swelling of the left testicle. The last time I went in to the E.R. and they told me I had an infection in the tubes that carry semen. Funny thing about that, I had a vasectomy, how can I get an infection? I was given the antibiotics Doxycycline. It went away (thank God) Now, it has all come back, pain in the pelvic region, swelling of the left testicle.

My husband has just had double knee replacement. He is also vitamin B 12 and D deficient. Due to late diagnosis he has SACD (subacute combined degeneration) of the spinal cord, and no sensation from knees to toes. He has been on antibiotics, pain killers and Clexane. He has swelling of both knees which is to be expected but has testicle swelling as well. Wondering if this is a sign of complication.

I had a vasectomy in 1997, and have suffered on and off with epididymitis. It became more intense in the last four months, and it's no longer calming with ibuprofen. I developed a hydrocele: fluid in the testicle. The doctor extracted the 1.5 ounces of fluid. This alleviated the condition, but five weeks later, the fluid and pain have returned.

I was diagnosed with epididymitis about 15 years ago and after several high dose courses of antibiotics and no permanent cure. My urologist prescribed cephalexin (liquid antibiotic) as I have trouble swallowing pills. I take 250mg twice a day and double if I have flare-ups! I find this condition puts me off sexual intercourse for obvious reasons.

I am a 53 year old male that underwent major back surgery of my L-5/S1 anterior disc replacement with instrumentation for bone growth. Right after surgery I noticed my left testicle swelled to five times its normal size! I was put on 4 different antibiotics for 4 months with ultrasounds, CT scans and MRIs! My left testicle has returned to normal size, but the pain is excruciating and the doctors including my urologist can't tell me what's causing this terrible pain much less a cause and fix! By the way my back surgery was done through the abdomen and the pain is so great I can't understand why something has not been done to fix the problem, or can't find the problem! Suffering in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

I have been having pain in both testes for 6 months. I have taken antibiotics taken for 45 days and they have not helped. The scan shows epididymitis (with lumps at head and tail) but so far no cure is suggested.

About 8 months ago I was diagnosed with chronic epididymitis. So far none of the drugs that the doctor has prescribed has worked. One of the ultrasounds I recently had, showed that my prostate was enlarged. Last week I had what I think is called a cystoscopy (a camera up my urethra). The urologist found that I have a narrowing of the urethra; and as a result I will be going in for a procedure in approximately 6 weeks from now and I understand I may need a catheter for a few days after. I am going to make another appointment with my urologist, but I thought it might be helpful to get other feedback so I will know what to ask my urologist.

I have just had a testicle infection and am just coming up to the end of my course of antibiotics. It started when I sat funny on the sofa crushing my right testicle causing little discomfort however the next night I started getting very painful twinges shooting from my right testicle to my abdomen to the point I was nearly in tears! The next day I made an appointment to visit my doctor who gave me an examination by feeling my testicles. I was prescribed an antibiotic course, but I still feel the pain so I am rebooking an appointment with my doctor. To any one reading this, my advice would be to go to the doctor as soon as you feel any of the symptoms I mentioned.

I am an average male, 30 years old, married with 2 kids. I went to bed one night and woke up for work the next day and felt discomfort in my left testicle. Thought maybe I slept funny. Friday rolled around and the top of the left testicle was sensitive to the touch and had a decent size lump that I could feel with my fingers. So I made an appointment for the following Monday. Monday I went in the doctor examined by touching, which was like getting flicked in the nut. She then perscribed "Levaquin" once a day for 14 days. We'll see how it goes.
