I am on the 8th day of taking antibiotics for testicle infection. The lump in my testicle got smaller and smaller and it doesn't hurt so much now. All you have to do is bed rest. The only reason you stand up is for urination and bowel movement.

I had chlamydia and after I was treated the discharge and burning stopped, until I had to urinate. Then there was a pain during urination and the left testicle felt constantly inflamed. I could feel it down my leg. I was tested again and no STDs. I researched and decided to change to a healthier diet, drink crazy amounts of water mixed with apple cider vinegar, take sovereign silver sometimes and take pumpkin seed oil daily. I was diagnosed with epididymitis (testicle infection) in March of 2020. This is after 3 months of nonstop pain and agony; getting kicked in the groin is a mild statement. Somebody repeatedly stomping on the testicles is more my situation and, I am sure, others. Late February 2021, after a year of antibiotics not working, my urologist set me up for a right side epididymectomy. Just about 2 weeks later I am still hurting but on the left side now. Months after surgery I am diagnosed with epididymitis again but on the left side. Back on antibiotics.

I developed chronic epididymitis in March of last year after I had a colonoscopy. It wasn't until last November that I was diagnosed with testicle infection after blood and urine tests came back clear, and an ultrasound came back normal. I was put on amitriptyline which has helped a lot, but sometimes the epididymitis flares up. Since I was put on amitriptyline I seem to have a few side effects such as constipation and dry orgasm.

I was treated for chlamydia roughly 12 years ago but always felt that there was something more underlying. I had a feeling that my right testicle struggled to empty when ejaculating which led me to believe the tubes were inflamed. Eventually, I went to the doctors after the little niggles became worse. I was given antibiotics (Trimethoprim) for epididymitis which helped loads. I have a follow up appointment to make sure all is well. My advice is, have testicle infections checked without delay.

My symptoms of testicle infection were dull ache, lower groin discomfort, mild hip pain, and mild lower left back ache. I had blood test, urine test and ultrasound which came back as normal. I had epididymitis (testicle infection) in February and March. It was a sudden onset and I was given levofloxacin for 14 days which helped. In March I had gastroenteritis and returned lessened testicular pain. The urologist proscribed levofloxacin for 60 days which damaged my digestive system. Ultrasound showed slight decrease in blood flow and calcium buildup within healthy ranges. I was told testicle pain was referred pain from lower back or pelvis. Be careful of testicle infection diagnosis! Sometimes prostatitis can masquerade as epididymis and you will need a minimum of continuous 6 weeks of antibiotics, e.g. ciprofloxacin, before you see any results. I have had epididymis for 8 weeks now treated with short course antibiotics on each occasion (three). Nothing has worked. I'm still in pain and my left epididymis is swollen and sore with burning pain almost every day. You need high dose antibiotics for 6 weeks nonstop minimum.

Don't panic, testicle infection does get better. I was diagnosed with epididymitis, then prostatitis. The pain was unbearable, and I went to the emergency room due to panic attacks. I was on 6 different antibiotics and they all helped briefly. I tried the diuretic and anti-inflammatory pill which was a complete waste of money. What helped most was physical therapy through massages, stretching, and acupuncture in the upper legs and lower back. Learn to meditate and stress less, this will get better with time.

I had acute epididymitis once and that resolved with Cipro. About 1 year later, I got epididymitis again, but this time antibiotics are no help. It has now been a whole year since and my testicle infection has not been cured. Please continue to research this disease and help put a stop to this painful inflammation.

I was having severe scrotal pain on both testicles from infection. I took all sorts of oral antibiotics which didn't work. A scrotal scan showed a mild hydrocele and epididymitis. A semen analysis was recommended. The result showed moderate growth of Staphylococcus aureus nonresistant to Rocephin IM. I took Rocephin Injection 6 days. Pain reduced. I developed trigeminal neuralgia (TN) some 7 years ago. It failed to respond to medications. I tried Pain Shied on two occasions. I found it unhelpful and in my opinion may be harmful. There is no credible scientific data to back it. The company undertook a double blind trial some 4 years ago but failed to publish the results for unknown reasons. I have had testicular pain followed by hydrocele after about 5 months. This has gone on for the past 7 years. I had my hydrocele drained every 5 months but the pain in my left testicle always remained. My primary doctor and my urologist disagreed as what was causing my pain. Last year I was disabled with knee pain, sciatica, testicular pain and a fuzzy mind for almost 24 hours a day. My doctor was baffled and after 5 months I was told I had Lyme disease. No more pain. I was told I got epididymitis two months ago and have seen 3 doctors giving 6 antibiotics for 7 days including Ofloxal, vibramycin, cefuroxime and Ciproxyl which were not working well with my testicle and lower back pain. The pain is somewhat making me really depressed and think of excision of my testis. Finally I was referred to a urologist who, after asking me all the treatment history, told me that antibiotics I took should have killed any bacteria and my pain may be reflexive pain. He gave me gabapentin saying that will ease nerve pain and it works.

I have had testicle infection for 6 years! I have off and on pain from epididymitis, I got it from chlamydia. I had it treated with medicines but pain persisted. I am with no relief until now! I had epididymis for about 6 months. I took a few courses of antibiotics for my testicle infection: doxycycline, levofloxacin, azithromycin, and Cipro on an off while taking turmeric and using ice packs and heat. Hi, I had a vasectomy done in 2006 and I was what they call one of 1/2000 cases for an incidence of congenital absence of the vas. So the smart surgeon thought to go further when he did not find the vas on my left side and decided to give me more sedation and to open up the incision and delivered the entire testicle outside of the incision but the stubborn surgeon did not find any vas, so he replace the testicle and closed me with 3-0 vicryl and 4-0 monocryl (what ever it means). When the operation was done I was in so much pain that I needed someone to give me something to forget about the pain. Now the real reason I am writing to you is that I had discomfort in my scrotum since. The pain comes and goes with time. My pain is more present when I do exercise especially. Now it is 2011 and went to a physician again a new one, but to my surprise the old physician, who made my vasectomy moved in is the office a month before meeting with the new one. I thought hum, interesting. So the new physician though to put a finger in my rectum and said. You may have an inflammation of the scrotum and need to take "SEPTRA DS" for one month. Oh I forgot to say that I had ultrasound done but they did not find anything.

My husband has just had double knee replacement. He is also vitamin B 12 and D deficient. Due to late diagnosis he has SACD (subacute combined degeneration) of the spinal cord, and no sensation from knees to toes. He has been on antibiotics, pain killers and Clexane. About 8 months ago I was diagnosed with chronic epididymitis. So far none of the drugs that the doctor has prescribed has worked. One of the ultrasounds I recently had, showed that my prostate was enlarged. Last week I had what I think is called a cystoscopy (a camera up my urethra). The urologist found that I have a narrowing of the urethra; and as a result I will be going in for a procedure in approximately 6 weeks from now and I understand I may need a catheter for a few days after. I am going to make another appointment with my urologist, but I thought it might be helpful to get other feedback so I will know what to ask my urologist.

I have just had a testicle infection and am just coming up to the end of my course of antibiotics. It started when I sat funny on the sofa crushing my right testicle causing little discomfort however the next night I started getting very painful twinges shooting from my right testicle to my abdomen to the point I was nearly in tears! I am an average male, 30 years old, married with 2 kids. I went to bed one night and woke up for work the next day and felt discomfort in my left testicle. Thought maybe I slept funny. Friday rolled around and the top of the left testicle was sensitive to the touch and had a decent size lump that I could feel with my fingers. So I made an appointment for the following Monday.
